Blogger again!

Well after too long an absence I am back on the blog scene, the summer was just hectic and my blogging fun had to wait.
I have to admit it feels a bit strange blogging again, I forgot that it seems like I am talking to my lab top, I feel a little like the Will Smith character from 'I am Legend', I wonder will verbal communictaion change as a result of the computer age?
Crikey! I definatley need to blog some more.
Back to the real; I ran some summer camps and demos over the summer and won't be able to post up all the pics but here are two which I think deserve some recongnition. They are the efforts of a first year and a fifth year student (sisters - talented family) studying art and we had great fun working on them for the week (along with nine 4-6 year olds!)
My favourite time of the year is on it's way, Autumn. I absolutley love Autumn, the bright dry days with a slight nip in the air that makes your cheeks glow. The colours are just fab and the crisp fresh earthy smell always makes me bubble over with the joys of life. Needless to say my fav thing to do is go for a brisk walk in my local woods on a bright Autumn day. But the main reason I love Autumn is that it is the harbringer of (you guessed it) - Christmas!! Yippee!!! I am one of the lunatics that LOve love love (with bells on top) Christmas!
So at the GBC (Great Big Craft Extravaganza) this year I am skipping ahead to the festive seaon and giving a workshop on a christmas mini book (watch this space for sneak previews.)
Go to go for now my two year old has just waltzed into the kitchen looking for porridge!!
Happy days and Happy crafting!

Extravaganza Sneak Peaks

Hi everyone, here is a sneak peak of the cards we will be doing this sunday at the Galway Spring Extravaganza. We have two oh so cute suger nellie images to play with and lots of tips on the fabulous promarkers. For information on class bookings and the timetable check out www.wix.com/galway/extravaganza

Looking forward to seeing you there. Cathy.

Hints:- Manga, texture, and handbag bling!!

Peak A Boo!!!!

p.s. Generally a class will provide everything you need to complete a project, however handy things to have in a class are scissors, glue stick, glue dots, double sided tape, craft knife and/or guillotine and your favourite paper/card stash, stamps and inks. That way you will maximise the enjoyment you will get from any class that you take part in. Happy Crafting!

CROP RESULTS

Well it was a great day yet again. Stash was shared, tips were swapped and lots of fun was had at the make and take station with ultra thick. After lunch the tags, lo's, domino's and inks etc. came out, i'm sorry I didn't take a pic of all the stuff on the tables, ah well next time! (roll on the 22nd May).

As usual Phil produced fab lo's, lots of fab lo's. I wish I could manage to complete more than one at a crop never mind 6!

Anne's selection of fab embellishments, not a mad hatter in sight! The pic doesn't do them justice!

Cropping Success!

Our 1st crop is finished and I think I can safely say it was a great success. We thouroughly enjoyed ourselves. We inked, cut, glued, layered, embossed UTE'ed, spritzed, colour washed and stamped our way through the day. Congratulations to Louise who won the voucher for Mandels's art shop in castlebar (Happy Shopping Lou).

Check out the results of our days labour below!! Next one coming up middle to end of Feb (includ a demo by Anne on alcohol inks - really looking forward to that), so make a date in your diary.

Thanks for dropping by, call again

Anne's Crop Results

Anne is our resident card expert and produced these fab componants for a beautiful card using blank luggage labels, spritzer bottles, distress inks and a few more bits. A card the lucky recepient will treasure forever.

Phil's Crop Results

Phil showed us all up, by the sheer amount of Fab LO's she did, 4 of them, amazing!

Louise's Crop Results

Self confessed scrapaholic, and budding artisit, Louise produced this stunning layout and also had time to Alter Art the front cover of her album (how cool is that)!

Cathy's crop results!

I managed to complete a LO of my son and our dogs. I was even being very good, I did some journaling (handwritten too!). I had to make a few cards though, (a quick fix!)

The Big Freeze

We had snow on christmas day, A WHITE CHRISTMAS!

Couldn't resist posting these. Some pictures of South Mayo during the big freeze, taken 8am on Christmas morning, what a sky!! and then it SNOWED!!!

The Beginning of Something Wonderful

Well, this is it. The FIRST LO of the Mayo Papercraft Club. We scrapped this in the last class of our christmas 2009 workshop. The class members changed the title to suit their photos. Great Fun was had by all in coming up with imaginative titles. We used Basic Grey papers as well as Glossy Accents and a simple layout to get us started.
Below are some of the cards we also made during the workshops

These two are a christmas card and gift card combo!
